WWF Earth Hour

On Saturday 28 March 2009 at 8.30pm, people, businesses and iconic buildings around the world will switch off their lights for an hour – WWF’s Earth Hour.

Sudley is asking you to participate. Will you switch off your lights for an hour on this day?

Climate change is one of the most serious threats facing the people and wildlife of this planet. We all have a role to play reducing this threat.

Comment below if you are taking part in the WWF Earth hour or if you are making a change to help save energy.

It would be great to read your ideas.

Thanks so much!

We will save energy by turning our TVs off stand by and when we’ve used the computer we will switch it off. When not in the classroom swith the lights off. Doing little things can make a big difference! We are going to take part in the Earth Hour, WILL YOU!

we will save the environment by turning of the television ad not leaving it on stand by .
plus we could turn of the lights when the room or classroom is not in use.

another way to save the envionment is by taking a shower and not a bath because a bath uses more water to be filled when a shower you can turn it on and the back off again but a bath uses more water to be filled and that is something we need to help us survive.

i am going to help save the environment by not using the computer for a week. this would save a lot of energy. i am also going to help save the environment by switching off light bulbs when ever i am not in the room.
There are many different ways to entertain myself without the computer, the TV e.c.t like reading and drawing.

Don’t use the washing machine too many times. Always fill the washing machine with a full load. Instead of turning the heating up when you’re cold, wear warm clothes.

  6. Rebecca 6S says:

Here are a some things that you can do to help with global warming:~

Put your clothes on the washing line instead of in the tumble dryer
Turn off your heating when you are not in your house
Walk, ride your bike or use a form of public transport instead of using your car so often
Photocopy and print on both sides of paper
Use solar power for as many different things as yoy can etc Light Bulbs Heating
Recycle as much as you can etc bottles cans cardboard paper toys books
Pay your bills online so not as many trees need to be cut down
Turn of the plug for your television instead of just putting it on standby
Use eamil to contact people instead of using electricity and phoning someone or using paper to write a letter
Turn things off properly by taking the plug out of the socket or turning the switch off

  7. Roshan.K says:

You can wash the car in the rain instead of using a hose
Wear warm clothes instead of using central heating
Use both sides of a sheet of paper
    And you could recycle regularly.
When you have used a charger, switch turn it off and make sure you take it out.

These are all small things that you can do to stop global warming.

  8. Rachel 5R says:

    Hi Miss Merrie,

Here are some ideas on trying to save energy:

Only use correct amount of water in the kettle.
    Use energy saving bulbs.
Have a shower instead of a bath.
Let your hair dry instead of using a hairdryer.

If you don’t do all these things to save energy, our earth will warm up and we will NOT LIVE!

  15. annabella4c says:
